ARE YOU TIRED OF UNWANTED CALLS ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE?
Unwanted
calls on mobile phones are a common source of annoyance and irritation. This
happens to everyone every day. Sometimes offers are made to get credit cards
through these calls and sometimes information is given about property offers.
Many types of scams are carried out through these calls and the person who gets
trapped gets money withdrawn from his bank account. Many have become victims at
one time or the other.
I am a witness to this myself. I get about 8 or 10 spam calls a day. I have nothing to do with these phone calls. Even if I ever pick up the call, the caller will ask me about the sale and purchase of my house. Another will talk about insurance. A third person will talk about an apartment promotion and try to convince me to buy it. The result is that even though the fourth person is calling genuinely, I am forced to ignore it, thinking it is a spam call.
On checking the phone calls it was found that the SIM card was from Gujarat, while another was from Madhya Pradesh or Haryana. The call from the Home Ministry is showing on the mobile for the third time. The fourth call is from the health line, and the fifth is from a stockbroker. In this way, calls keep coming from different names throughout the day. On checking True Caller, it was found that these calls were fraudulent. Most of these numbers are fake caller ID numbers. This is probably not the number you received a call.
NEED TO BE ALERT, FULLY WATCHFUL
One needs to be cautious about such calls. The caller only tries to trap you. A few months ago, I received a call and was told that I have won a car in Lucky Draw and if I want to take it, then send my Aadhar card and bank account number. The funny thing is that they also say that to get the car, you will have to get it registered and for that, you have to send an advance of Rs. 5 to 10 thousand.
Luckily, I understood that this whole matter was a fraud, and somehow I got rid of him.
One call keeps coming for three years continuously, saying that your house is vacant
and you want to give it on rent. Whereas every time it is said that the house
has already been sold. You can guess from this that the caller is fooling two
people at the same time.
TELEMARKETER CALLS ALSO BOTHER YOU
However, it is not a telemarketer but a robot calling you. An automated dialer calls hundreds of people a second, and when it detects that you said hello, it connects you to an operator. If no operator is available, they simply hang up. They are perfectly happy to waste your time to save their own.
These
people are scammers and want to make you believe that you owe money, and may
even threaten legal action if you do not comply. They want credit card
information, address, and even car make and model so they can track your
whereabouts. In such a case, please let the phone ring and never pick it up.
These people are rats, and you must remember that all this is happening right
under the nose of the government. Be careful.
AVOID SPEAKING
Now I have found a way and I avoid talking. I think this is a good way to avoid fraud. Reports also say that you should avoid speaking or pressing any buttons. What is the point of talking to a stranger anyway, and that is okay? And you never know how they can use your voice. All this is disturbing.
You
don't need any additional apps to avoid these phone calls. This feature comes in
every smartphone and some feature phones as well: blocking or blacklisting.

nefarious people must be curbed and this kind of act must be completely
stopped.

ACTION TAKEN BY THE GOVERNMENT
The Consumer Affairs Department of the Central Government has issued a draft guideline related to this. In this, some standards have been made to get rid of unwanted calls. According to this, if someone has not given consent to receive calls related to business promotion or sale of anything and still receives such calls and messages, then it will be considered 'unwanted business communication'. The entity or person making the call will be held responsible for this.
The proposed guidelines aim to curb unsolicited calls from unregistered telemarketers or 10-digit private numbers. The draft states that any promotional call or service message related to goods and services will be considered business communication.
Personal
communication is excluded from its scope. These guidelines will apply to every
person or entity who either makes such calls or resorts to others for this or
benefits from such calls.
At present,
comments have been sought from the public on this. In this, accountability has
also been fixed for those who arrange such business calls through any company
or firm and those who benefit from these.
