PM MODI's VISIT TO THE MALDIVES IS IMPORTANT FOR STRENGTHENING BILATERAL RELATIONS Prime Minister Modi arrived in the Maldives on 25 July 2025 for the second leg of his two-nation tour. He was welcomed with a guard of honour. President Mohammed Muizzu himself arrived at the airport to receive him. This will be the first state visit by a head of government after President Muizzu assumes office in November 2023. This visit is also significant during the tenure of the Mohammad Muizzu government, as it marks the first time relations between the two countries have been strained.
