Your Personality Affects Your Happiness

Some one has rightly said, "Happiness is a great way of measuring success, When we're happy, it brings out the best in us. When we're happy, people want to work with us. When you truly know what makes you happy and when you really follow your joy, that's what increases your chances of success."

Happiness is an essential factor to achieve success in all areas of life. But, to feel happy, one must create it for oneself and experience it from within. For this state of mind, personality plays a great role. It is an important factor because it determines how well you can achieve your goals and extract happiness from living your dreams. Personality makes you stand apart from the rest. It plays an essential role in improving one's communication skills as well.

Strong mind makes a strong personality. Every person is unique because of his thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Personality sees no boundaries of today-yesterday-past incarnations. There is a deep relationship between happiness and personality. Pleasant emotions, in turn, result in people having a repertoire of behaviours that is wider and richer than those who feel more negative emotions. In addition, they promote healthy lifestyle habits, preventing future problems. Another result is greater satisfaction with life.

If we wish to be happy, we must work on some of these qualities. They are not just the guiding path towards happiness but also important traits for personality development.

1. Gratitude is essential for happiness and it is strongly and consistently associated with greater happinessGratitude helps people feel more positive emotions. The moment you will sit down to count your blessings, you will immediately feel happy.

2. Humour is also important, no matter who you are or where you work. A sense of humour is an essential life skill. A sense of humour can improve your mental and physical health, boost your attractiveness, and improve your happiness quotient.

3. Self-esteem is the critical determinant of a healthy personality. If you do not like and respect yourself, you cannot perform and behave in a better way. Confidence goes a long way. If you care for yourself, you care for your happiness.

4. Adaptability from within and social support from others are both important to happiness. You should be aware of changes in your environment. Adapting helps to get over the stress if any and helps to calm the heart and mind.

5. Having an optimistic approach to life is key to attain happiness. Optimistic people tend to lead a happy and successful life.

6.Focusing on intangible values in life is also key to happiness and fulfilment. Love, gratitude, impulsiveness, happiness, joy, compassion are all intangible.

Overall, it is the qualities of your personality that help to create your whole personality. You must laugh, smile and consider your happiness a gift of God. The person who is cheerful, with a smile on his face, can create miracles for others too. The person smiling not only keeps himself happy, but also keeps others happy. People are automatically more attracted to the person who has smile on his face. A person who smiles has so much power that he gets his work done easily.

Laughing is also an art. This reflects your personality. But your laughter should be decorous and must never be the reason for somebody's painGandhi ji said that “if I had not been cheerful, I would have committed suicide.”

Chelmsford has said – “Think of that day as useless on which we do not smile.” A warm smile is the universal language of kindness. So, smile, be happy and make your life beautiful.
