Today, Artificial Intelligence is a burning topic. It has been the center of discussion for the past several decades. Presently, work is being done prominently on the use of advanced technologies in the world, due to which the world is changing rapidly. To speed up development and provide better amenities to the people, modern technology is being used extensively in every field. It is being considered that Artificial Intelligence has many benefits and it will generate employment.

Artificial Intelligence means intellectual ability developed in a synthetic (artificial) way. Through this, a computer system or robotic system is created, which is attempted to be run on the basis of the same logic on the basis of which the human brain works.

It is often thought that humans will be the biggest losers with AI’s arrival because their work will be taken over by machines. It is believed that the advent of AI, machine learning, and data science will lead to more unemployment. But, this is not the case, AI has the potential to revolutionize the workforce by creating new job roles, automating routine tasks, and increasing productivity. Artificial intelligence creates new, high-paying skilled labor jobs.

Throughout history, concerns have been raised about the impact of new technology on existing jobs. But, while new technology often replaces some jobs, it also creates many more. For example, assembly line workers in automotive factories across the US are being replaced by intelligent robotics, driven and guided by advanced AI. But those workers are not being laid off from the factories. Rather, they are being trained and upgraded to new roles as robotics technicians. Those same workers now have secure, better-paying jobs.

Artificial Intelligence mimics human behavior

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the theory and development of computer systems that can perform complex tasks that were historically only capable of human intelligence. Be it reasoning, making decisions, or solving problems, these are all possible nowadays with the help of AI.

AI is a broad term that encompasses a variety of specific technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP). To put it simply, artificial intelligence is any technology that enables computers to mimic human behavior. One of the key technologies that enables AI to solve problems is machine learning (ML).

It would be better if we first try to understand some of the most commonly used abbreviations and their definitions:

  • Machine Learning (ML) - refers to systems that can learn from experience. In other words, it refers to systems that can learn by themselves. Systems that get smarter over time without human intervention.
  • Deep Learning (DL) - refers to systems that learn from experience on large data sets. Most AI tasks now involve ML because intelligent behavior requires a great deal of knowledge, and learning is the easiest way to acquire that knowledge.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) - refers to systems that can understand language. That is to say, Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) that uses machine learning to help computers communicate with human language.

Father of Artificial Intelligence

One of the greatest innovators in the field of AI was John McCarthy, who was given the title of Father of Artificial Intelligence for his contributions to the field of computer science and AI. According to him, it is the science and engineering of creating intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs, that is, it is intelligence demonstrated by machines.

Artificial Intelligence started in the 1950s. But, its importance was recognized in the 1970s. Japan was the first to take the initiative in this direction and in 1981, a plan called Fifth Generation was started. In this, a 10-year program for the development of super-computers was outlined.

After this, other countries also paid attention to this. Britain created a project named 'ELVI' for this. The countries of the European Union also started a program named 'Esprit'. After this, in 1983, some private organizations together established an association 'Micro-Electronics and Computer Technology' to develop advanced technologies applicable to Artificial Intelligence, such as Very Large Scale Integrated Circuit.

The 1980s saw rapid growth in AI. Its popularity and interest grew, leading to what is now referred to as the "AI boom". The increase in interest was followed by increased funding for research, leading to even more advances.

How does AI work?

In general, AI systems work by ingesting large amounts of labeled training data, analyzing that data for correlations and patterns, and using these patterns to make predictions about future conditions.

AI systems programming focuses on the following cognitive skills:

Learning - This aspect of AI programming involves acquiring data and creating rules, known as algorithms, to turn it into actionable information. These algorithms provide step-by-step instructions for a computing device to complete specific tasks.

Reasoning - This aspect involves choosing the right algorithm to reach the desired result.

Self-improvement - In this aspect, the algorithms constantly learn and tune themselves to provide as accurate a result as possible.

Creativity - This aspect uses neural networks, rule-based systems, statistical methods, and other AI techniques to generate new images, text, music, ideas, etc.

It is imperative to enhance analytical skills

For this, analytical skills have to be increased. New technologies are coming due to Big Data, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence. As a result, there are possibilities of big changes in the labor sector. No matter how many machines come, no matter how fast the machines become, there will always be a need for people.

Therefore, self-learning, continuous development, ability to learn and focusing on your goals also come under analytical skills. This is being considered very important for the coming times. Besides, communication skills and co-cognition will be very important skills in the times to come. The importance of qualities like teamwork, listening skills, storytelling, support, empathy will increase even more in any person.

According to a report published in 2020 on the social media site LinkedIn, communication skills are very important in today's job market. In this field, prompt engineer is going to be the most important opportunity. A person known as a communication expert in the field of artificial intelligence is called a prompt engineer. Another job in this field which is going to be important is that of an ethicist. An expert in ethics is called an ethicist.

Along with this, security engineers, developers of user-friendly interfaces for proper interaction between machines and humans will also create a significant opportunity in this field.

There are also opportunities to collect information through control systems, Harden Collider or websites like Netflix. In the coming years, due to the exchange of highly sensitive information everywhere, there will be no shortage of jobs for cyber security technicians

As the population grows, there will always be a need for health services, so there will be a huge demand for people working in the health sector in the future. In this field too, doctors and health professionals will need to use artificial intelligence to find different ways of diagnosis and treatment.

The seven-point strategy of the Indian Government on Artificial Intelligence

In October last year, the Central Government formulated a 7-point strategy, which will form the basis of India's strategic plan for the use of Artificial Intelligence. Prominent among these are:

·        Developing methods for human-machine interaction.

·        Building a competent workforce with artificial intelligence and R&D.

·        Ensuring the security of artificial intelligence systems.

·       Understanding and working on the ethical, legal, and social implications of artificial        intelligence.

·       Evaluating artificial intelligence technology by considering it as a standard and                  measuring it through benchmarks.

Considering the huge demand for technology, business analysts, and blockchain system developers in the financial sector in the coming years, the government also wants artificial intelligence to be used wherever possible in the country for good governance.

In the future, AI can become the engine of productivity and economic growth by increasing efficiency and improving decision-making through data analysis. In general, people should look at artificial intelligence as a partner rather than a competitor and should focus on understanding how to cooperate with it.
