This is a day that is designated to raise the public's awareness about the challenges that people with vision impairment or loss deal with on daily basis.   Chanakya needs no introduction. He has been regarded as the greatest Indian philosopher, thinker, and diplomat. He was the son of Pandit Acharya Chanak, a great scholar of his time. Chanakya's real name was  Vishnugupta . Because of his “ Kautilya Niti ”, he came to be known as ‘ Kautilya’ . Born in  a  poor Brahmin family,  Chanakya  was educated at Takshashila (now in Pakistan), an ancient center of learning located in the northwestern part of India. Chanakya was in no way behind the scholars of Greece. He came to be known as the  Acharya of Nalandav Mahavidyalaya  about two thousand four hundred years ago.   Elevator accidents are a serious safety concern for the residents of multi-floor societies and for those who work in high-rise offices. Surveys and reports suggest that thousands of people die every year all over the world in elevator-related accidents. The National Elevator Industry Inc., which is the leading authority on elevator safety, reports that  approximately 10,000 people are injured in elevators each year . The main reasons behind this are safety rules which are often being flouted.  Fatalities in   lift accidents Recently, in a horrific accident at a high-rise society, namely Paras Tiera in Noida Sector 137, a 70-year-old woman died after the lift collapsed midway.
